Subrahmanya Chandrasekhar
Dr. Subrahmanya Chandrasekhar was a genius who stunned the world by the depth and scope of his discoveries. He was born in 1919 & passed away in 1995. He recieved the Nobel prize on October 1983. He recieved this prize for his great work in Astrophysics. It is said that when the Nobel Committee met to decide upon Chandrasekhar's name for award it faced a delicate dilemma. How could one major accomplishment possibly be cited in so many fields of science- Chandra had listed seven major fields of his discoveries in his Biographical note to the commitee!
