Armour Siege
Brigadier Theoraj

The Pakistanis launched an offensive in Khem Karan and Bedian on 8 th September, 1971.

Brigadier Theoraj who commanded the armored Corps Brigade was ordered to advance with his tanks to prevent an all-out encirclement of the Indian positions.

The Brigadier successfully halted the enemy's advance and then he deployed his artillery in such a way that the enemy tanks were driven into a trap he had setup for them.

The Pakistanis lost 40 of thier tanks in the battle that followed.

Pakistan never again attempted a thrust in this area. The man who had inflicted such a crushing defeat on them , Brigadier Theoraj, was decorated with the Mahavir chakra.
